Getting to Grimentz

Grimentz is located in the Val d´Anniviers above the town of Sierre in the Valais canton of southern Switzerland. The village is easily reached by car or public transport with connections to several airports via the Swiss motorways, rail and Post Bus networks.

By air:

Geneva (2 hrs 20 mins) is the nearest major airport to Grimentz, but Basel (2 hrs 45 mins), Zurich (3 hrs) and Milan (3 hrs) are viable alternatives. During the Ski season, Flybe operate a service to Bern from where the transfer takes 1 hour 45 minutes by car through the Lotschberg rail tunnel.

By rail & postbus:

The nearest railway station is in Sierre which connects with main line services to all parts of Switzerland and Europe, including a direct link to Geneva Airport. A regular Post Bus service between Sierre and Grimentz interconnects with the train arrivals in typical Swiss style!

By road:

Grimentz is 540 miles (860 km) from Calais and takes 10 hour 30 minutes to drive, mainly on French & Swiss motorways. The picturesque drive from the end of the A9 motorway at Sierre to Grimentz takes about 30 minutes.
